Our History

McCoy & McCoy Laboratories, Inc. (MMLI) is a woman-owned commercial testing company established in 1952 to provide clients with information and services to solve or prevent federal, state, and local regulatory compliance issues. MMLI's corporate office is located in Madisonville, Kentucky and currently operates four additional laboratories within the commonwealth in Lexington, Louisville, Pikeville, and Paducah.

Originally, the company's business focus was toward water and wastewater analysis and treatment plant supervision. In the 1970s, growing public concern for the environment led to the passage of new laws, such as the Clean Water Act (CWA), and the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) which provided opportunities for MMLI to expand and broaden our scope of services. MMLI continued to grow with the ever-changing testing requirements within these regulations.

As the potential for litigation became an increasing part of the environmental agenda in the 1990s, MMLI became accredited through the National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (NELAP); And while the world was embarking on a new century, MMLI acquired certification to analyze for Cryptosporidium and registered with the FDA for active pharmaceutical testing. Today, MMLI's core business activities are directed toward providing a diverse customer base with professional and timely analytical determinations for drinking water, wastewater, hazardous waste, and chemical products.
